From Proto-Yoruba *wówo, *-wo, from Proto-Edekiri *-wó, ultimately from Proto-Yoruboid *-ɓó. Compare with Ifè wówo, Itsekiri wó, Olukumi wó, Ede Nago wo, and Igala wójì.
